Procedures for Reporting Allegations of Bullying

Sheldon ISD

Below you will find the Sheldon ISD district policy on bullying.  If you have been bullied, it is important to tell someone so that you can get help.  If you are a parent who suspects bullying may be occurring on campus, please contact the administrative office at Sheldon Elem. or an administrator with your concerns.  We all must work together to keep our students safe and focused on their academics.

The district prohibits bullying on school property, at school-sponsored or school-related activities, or in any vehicle operated by the district.  Bullying may be verbal or written expression, expression through electronic means, or physical conduct.   Bullying is not tolerated by the district and any student, or parent of a student, who believes a student has experience, or engaged in, bullying is encouraged to immediately report the incident.  Retaliation against anyone involved in the reporting process is in violation of district policy, and is prohibited.

Students or parents may report an alleged incident of bullying, orally or in writing, to a teacher, counselor, principal, or other district employee.  Students or parents may contact the campus to obtain an incident report form that is can be used to submit the report.

Please note that after the submission of the report to the district employee that the district may assign it to a campus administrator to follow up on.  Any other important matters pertaining to the report will also be explored.  We encourage you to communicate with your designated campus administrator during this time.
