About the Counselor
Hello and welcome! My name is Dianna Kondo, and I am so excited to be serving as your counselor here at Sheldon Elementary. This is my 11th year in education, and I feel incredibly grateful to continue supporting students and families in meaningful ways every day.
I spent 7 amazing years as a bilingual elementary teacher, where I developed a deep love for helping students grow both academically and personally. For the past 3 years, I worked as a high school counselor, supporting students in academic planning, personal development, and preparing for life after graduation.
I am very excited to be back in the elementary school setting, working alongside students, parents, and staff to create a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment. I’m here to help students build social and emotional skills, work through challenges, and develop the confidence they need to succeed both in and out of the classroom.
My goal is to support our students in developing strong social-emotional skills, healthy peer relationships, and a positive sense of self that will help them succeed both academically and personally. My objective is to provide age-appropriate classroom guidance lessons, small group support, and individual counseling focused on skills like emotional regulation, empathy, conflict resolution, and goal-setting, while collaborating with families and teachers to meet students’ needs.
Please feel free to reach out, my door is always open!
Warmly,
Dianna Kondo, M.Ed, CSC

During the 89th Texas Legislative Session, lawmakers passed Senate Bill 12, which requires schools to get annual parental consent before providing routine physical or mental health services. This includes things like first aid, short-term counseling, or social emotional support. To complete the consent form in Skyward:
- Log into your Skyward Family Access account
- Locate the 2025-26 Student Handbook Form
- Indicate whether or not you consent.
