Administration
Principal
Dear Sheldon Elementary Families,
I welcome you to Sheldon Elementary, where our theme this year is "Growing Greatness.” I am Mrs. Rolling, the principal of Sheldon Elementary. I am home grown in Sheldon ISD. I began my career as a teacher at Carroll Elementary. Later, I became the Math and Science Instructional Specialist, Assistant Principal and currently Principal all at Sheldon Elementary.
Our daily goal is to help all Sheldon Tigers experience success in their learning process. The foundation of a great education begins in elementary school and daily attendance is crucial. Our staff and student attendance goal is 98%! We encourage our students to be active learners and problem solvers. We are also an Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) National Showcase campus. Sheldon Elementary will focus on the following research-based instructional strategies with the highest probability of enhancing student achievement for all students, in all subjects, in all grade levels.
- Note-taking
- Organization
- Goal setting
- Critical thinking
- Inquiry
- Collaboration
- Reinforce effort & provide recognition
- College and Career School Culture
As I look forward to this school year, I am excited to work with all the students, parents, teachers and community members that are pivotal to Sheldon Elementary success. I strongly believe in developing the whole child. At Sheldon Elementary, everything we do will be done with the best interest of the students in mind. I am committed to supporting our students and teachers in their journey to success.
Assistant Principal
Hello Sheldon Tigers!
My name is Marcy Jackson and I am proud to be the new assistant principal of Sheldon Elementary. I started my educational career as a self-contained elementary teacher. After serving as a classroom teacher, I transitioned to a Math and Science Instructional Specialist for 8 years. This year I am returning as Assistant Principal. I am excited to experience the limitless possibilities Sheldon Elementary has to offer. Teaching is my first love, and I am a firm believer that all students can and will learn. I hope to help each child reach their fullest potential.
Wishing you and your family a safe and healthy school year.
